Section Layout Drawings for Prescot St Mary Churchyard

Our thanks to Neil Harper for creating a series of Section Layout Drawings.

Here is a series of Section Layout drawings showing the details of the location of ALL of the gravestones and headstones which remain within the Churchyard as at Summer 2026.

We started with the “Garden of Rest” area which is located at the top of the Churchyard where the Sun Dial is located and adjacent to the Community Hall which is opposite the main entrance doors for Prescot St Mary’s Church. This is where the oldest visible gravestone can be found!

Please pinch and zoom the screen on your device in order to find your way around each Section where you will be able to see the Name(s) we have recorded for each grave location we have identified over the past few years.

Don’t forget that you can also view the grave details which are available in the find-a-grave website along with photos, where we have them.

PLEASE NOTE that the cells coloured in grey (in each Section) are ‘War related’ and so either have a formal Commonwealth War Graves Commission headstones OR that a deceased serviceman is recognised on the family gravestone/headstone. We place a poppy on each of those ahead of every Remembrance Sunday! 

We are also looking to repeat this exercise for all war related graves located in the Prescot Cemetery Sections.

As at 15th September 2026, we have now made available all 8 of the Section Layout Plans starting with the Garden of Rest Area and then from Section 1 through to Section 7 which reflects the full Churchyard. (Note that gravestones located on the ‘Church footpath’ are not yet recorded in this way – but we’re working on that!).
