Hello from the Friends of Prescot Cemetery and Churchyard. 

Recently, Neil made an amazing discovery. ‘Our Heritage Expert in Chief’ has discovered that the Henry & Sarah Harrison grave in Section 6 towards the bottom of the Churchyard (along the path looking towards the old Trap Lane entrance (now named Garden Walk) in Prescot was missing a piece of stone that none of us had ever previously spotted!

It turns out that the very top portion of this headstone was cut away at some point and so we have now re-united this smaller piece which was amongst the ‘abandoned headstone pieces’ found by us in Section 2 of the Churchyard at the top closest to the Church. 

The INscription reads;

The Burial Place of

Henry and Sarah Harrison

The above Sarah Harrison died

11th October 1870, aged 67 years 

The above Henry Harrison 

died 27th April 1891

aged 83 years

Also In Memory of

Hannah Street

who died 18th Jan 1898

aged 60 years
