Thank-you to Tesco and to our many supporters in and around Prescot, whose blue tokens put our group in first place in the Tesco Bags of Help scheme earlier this year.
The win has provided us with £4,000, which will be spent in part on new benches around the BI Memorial. Two already exist, one of which is dedicated to Adam Ellison, the young Prescot man tragically murdered in November 2017.
It’s been wonderful to see some new faces among both our volunteers and visitors recently. We’ve worked hard in laying new crosswalk paths (pictured below) and resurfacing the main paths with limestone chippings, making the environment both prettier and safer for visitors.
The Friends of Prescot Cemetery & Churchyard continue to meet every Saturday from 1pm to 3pm to help tidy and maintain the site. If you’d like to get involved, please come along and introduce yourself.
